Historical investing tools, reproducible studies, and practical reading guides

Editorial policy and corrections

Sun Insight Lab publishes historical investing tools and educational explanations. It is written and built by one person — an individual investor of about twenty years who builds the site's backtesting tools — and I am responsible for its editorial decisions. Content is general information and does not establish an adviser-client relationship.

Original research

A published numerical study should identify its question, input data, date range, selection rules, formulas, cash-flow assumptions, and limitations. Our September 2026 studies publish frozen data, hashes, full observation tables, and executable Python. These are descriptive backtests, not independently audited investment performance or evidence that a future strategy will work.

Financial sources

Company filings and issuer announcements support company facts; regulator and index-provider documents support rules and definitions. A company's forecast is labeled as its forecast. Announced funding targets are distinguished from completed funding. Calculated examples are labeled hypothetical. A source link must support the nearby claim rather than simply point to an organization's homepage. Where a claim cannot be supported, it is removed or explicitly corrected.

Editorial process and responsibility

Every article begins with an editorial decision I make: which question is worth answering, and which sources the answer must be built on — filings, regulator and central-bank releases, index-provider documents, or output from this site's own backtests. I give direction on the argument a piece should make and the claims it must not make, and I read and revise the draft before it publishes. AI tools assist with drafting, editing, and code. Direction, source selection, and final review are mine, and I am responsible for what appears here.

Two limits stated plainly. This is not an independently audited publication or a professional investment review, and reproducing a calculation proves the arithmetic rather than the accuracy of every vendor input. Readers can examine study code and report errors, and corrections are logged below. Authorship reflects about twenty years of investing my own capital and the tools on this site, which I built — not a professional license, adviser credential, or any claim to manage money for others.

Corrections

On September 7, 2026, we replaced unsupported figures and invalid reproduction instructions on Findings; clarified first-trading-day sampling and adjusted prices; corrected the DCA research comparison; removed unsupported current-market assertions from revised Analysis articles; and corrected privacy descriptions of login and advertising. Revised articles identify material changes. Send the page URL, disputed statement, and supporting source to Contact. A corrected page receives a meaningful update date; site navigation changes alone do not imply a financial fact was rechecked.

Advertising and independence

Ad scripts are disabled during this revision. Advertising eligibility does not validate our research. Advertising must remain separate from editorial conclusions; any future paid placement or affiliate relationship must be disclosed. We do not promise investment results or approval by an advertising network.
